Best connectivity

Cutting-edge connectivity with USB-C

Video and audio reproduction, data transfer, including network signal and power supply for connected devices – all this and so much more is possible with a single USB-C cable. The EV2495 will become your central docking station to which you can quickly and easily connect your laptop. This is especially practical if you have multiple workstations or switch between working in an office and at home.

The 70 W power supply via USB-C reliably charges small computers or laptops, giving you more desk space since an additional power supply is no longer necessary for the computer.

We have tested a small selection of different devices and the compatibility between monitor and computer for you and described them on the international EIZO website.

Daisy chain method

Efficient multi-display solution

The monitor’s USB-C ports enable multiple monitors to be connected to the computer via a single cable (using the daisy chain method). This allows for a hassle-free configuration of up to four screens and reduces cable clutter. Being able to view and edit several applications simultaneously also improves comfort and increases efficiency when working.

Did you know, computers and monitors with a DisplayPort connection can also be connected to USB-C? The right cable for this from our optional accessories is called CP200.

Are you unsure whether the daisy chain method is compatible with your system? EIZO tests PCs that are currently available on the market to ensure that they are compatible with the daisy chain method and FlexScan monitors.

Product recommendation for multi-screen solutions

Multiscreen solutions look particularly good when all monitors are similar in design and have an almost frameless UltraSlim format. This is easily achieved by using the USB-C daisy chain and linking several EV2495s.

Because there is no need for further chaining from the last screen, the cheaper sister model EV2485 is recommended for this. It can do without the USB-C down port, LAN connection and KVM switch. The design and stand of the EV2495 and EV2485 are identical.

Connectivity_DaisyChain_EV2495-EV2485.jpg

One monitor, many ports

It couldn't be easier: Most end devices, such as PC, laptop, mouse, keyboard or headphones, can be connected directly to the monitor, thanks to its wide range of signal interfaces and ports. This makes your daily work easier and ensures a tidy desk.

Stable network connection

LAN port

The monitor has a dedicated LAN port to ensure a stable wired network connection. Laptops and PCs require only one USB cable to be connected to the EV2495 to gain network access via the monitor. This is particularly advantageous for laptops that do not have a LAN connection and allows stable data transfer, which is required for video conferences, for example. As a network device the monitor has its own MAC address.

Optionally, the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" software for Windows can temporarily assign the MAC address of the connected PC to the monitor. This transparency grants authenticated PCs network access through the monitor.

Connectivity_LAN.jpg

Two PCs, one control

KVM switch

It has never been easier to operate different PCs with a single mouse and keyboard. Thanks to the USB upstream ports, the EV2495 has an integrated KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. The monitor automatically links the webcam, microphone, speakers, mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. This means, for example, that a desktop PC and laptop or business and private PC can each be operated on the same combination of monitor USB devices. This ensures uninterrupted working and a tidy workspace.

Image quality

Precise, high-contrast, bright and crisp screen

Maximum image quality thanks to the IPS panel

The monitor is capable of all three key elements of excellent image quality: excellent resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, maximum contrast of 1000:1, and stable brightness of up to 350 cd/m². That means you will experience razor-sharp text contours, brilliant graphics, and clear images. Thanks to the high-quality IPS panels with LED backlight, contrasts and colours remain stable from every viewing angle.

ImageQuality_FlexScan_IPS-Panel.jpg

Precise color control

An image can only be perfect if the colors are, too. This is why EIZO monitors have a 10-bit look-up table at a minimum, which allows the color information to be assigned much more precisely than with conventional 8-bit LUTs. The finest color gradations ensure that gradients are always perfectly displayed, while also offering customised adjustment options. For example, you can adjust the white balance from 4000 K to 10 000 K in 500-K intervals.

Overdrive to quickly change images

The overdrive function accelerates the switching time so that gray-grey changes take place in just 5 ms on average. You can watch movies and fast image changes without annoying afterglow. When scrolling and positioning windows or images, the display is legible in fractions of a second - faster than it can be perceived. Power consumption and energy efficiency are always in view.

Design

A pleasing sight on any desk

Elegant design

The monitor’s appearance can be the key to creating a pleasant working atmosphere. Whether you are at home or in the office, the monitor’s virtually frameless design and ergonomic functionality allows it to fit naturally into your workplace environment. The housing is available in both an elegant black and in white, with matching white cables.

Ergonomics

Working in a relaxed manner

Easy on the eyes with Auto EcoView

At day, at night, bright, dark: No matter when and how you work, the Auto EcoView function continuously measures changes of the ambient light and optimises the monitor with ideal brightness values automatically by using a sensor. The benefits: Annoying glare is reduced, your eyes will not get tired as quickly. A special two-point control takes into account the brightest and darkest environment over the course of the day with the respectively desired screen brightness. Another plus: the automatic brightness adjustment can significantly reduce power consumption.

Of course, you can also continue to configure the monitor manually. EcoView Index is used for orientation on how economical your settings are.

For the sake of the eyes

Flicker free

To help protect your eyes, EIZO has developed a hybrid technology to control the backlight. This combines the benefits of the otherwise standard PWM (pulse width modulation) and DC (direct current) control. The PWM control uses much higher frequencies than standard PWM methods. The result: a flicker-free viewing experience while maintaining picture quality and colour stability. In addition, compared to pure DC control, you can adjust the brightness to less than 1% of the maximum value in darkly lit rooms. The benefit: Your screen remains free from flicker and glare even under these conditions.

The flicker-free and low blue light content of the EIZO FlexScan monitors is certified by TÜV Rheinland.

Anti-glare coating: more image, less reflection

The EV2495 offers a perfect, non-glare surface. By minimising glare by diffusing the reflected light, the EV2495 effectively protects your eyes from straining. This keeps your eyes from getting as tired and allows you to sit comfortably in front of the monitor, without having to sit in a forced position to prevent glare.

Ergonomics_Anti-glare.png

Ergonomic stand

Ergonomic and stable: the adjustable stand focuses on ergonomics. You can rotate, swivel and tilt the monitor stand until you find the most comfortable setting for your back, neck and sitting posture. It features continuous height adjustment and can be lowered almost to the base plate of the stand, enabling you to position the top image line ergonomically right below your eye level.

Software and ease of use

Features for greater comfort

Preset color modes: optimized display at the touch of a button

Preset color modes optimize the viewing of images, texts or videos. Because it makes a difference whether you are watching a video, looking at a picture, surfing the net or writing texts. At the touch of a button, you can set the respective preset for brightness, gamma correction and color temperature. An example: Paper mode simulates the pleasant contrast of printed paper, making reading easier on the eyes and preventing fatigue.

Software-Operation_Color_modes.jpg

Operation made easy

Electrostatic switches are integrated into the front of the EV2495 instead of mechanical buttons. This ensures ease of use while also giving the monitor an extremely elegant look.

With the Button Guide, you have all functions at a glance. One touch of the control panel is enough, and the function assignment of the buttons is displayed. Your advantage: clarity of operation and a clean, uncluttered design.

The speakers and all the controls are also built into the bezel, pointing forward in the direction of the user. They are fully integrated into the monitor’s flat, nearly frameless design to offer an excellent user experience.

Monitor control and administration

Screen InStyle

In addition to the on-screen menu, you can conveniently control the EV2495 by using the Screen InStyle software on a PC. Sustainability

Environmentally and socially conscious production

Save energy effortlessly

Energy efficiency is an important aspect in the development of EIZO monitors. The monitors are equipped with features and functions to reduce power consumption to a minimum.

Up to 50% less power consumption

The Auto EcoView function automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to changes in ambient light. This saves electricity compared to a monitor that is operated at a constant brightness. Of course, you can still adjust the monitor manually. The EcoView index serves as a guide to how economical your setting is.

The EcoView Optimizer automatically reduces the backlight in dark images, thereby reducing power consumption. At the same time, the signal is amplified and the color tone values are adjusted. The result: you experience the usual image quality with lower consumption.

These EcoView technologies reduce overall power consumption by up to 50%* compared to the display at maximum brightness. Another plus: the automatic brightness adjustment can be easy on your eyes.

* Typical power consumption when no USB Power Delivery is used.

Zero-watt consumption thanks to the power switch

The monitors have an integrated mechanical power switch, which is extremely practical and energy-saving: If you switch off the monitor using the power switch, the device will stop consuming any power at all. Moreover, it consumes a maximum of 0.5 watt in standby mode.

Sustainabilty_ISO14001.jpg

Environmentally friendly use of materials

Reducing the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in material production, such as some paints, is a global concern.

Through years of research, EIZO has succeeded in achieving a smooth, nearly homogeneous color and texture in its monitor housings without the use of varnish.

Sustainability_Plastic_FS.jpg

Environmentally friendly packaging

For the packaging of the EV2495, EIZO uses a padding made of moulded pulp cellulose. The material is made from recycled cardboard and paper and has a much lower environmental impact when disposed of than traditional polystyrene or plastic. All cables are stored in a cardboard compartment instead of being individually packed in plastic bags.

Sustainability_Packaging_FlexScan.jpg

Collective packaging on demand

Depending on the quantity and delivery time, EIZO offers an alternative packaging option with four monitors and four separate stands in one shipping unit each.

This reduces packaging waste, increases shipping efficiency and shortens unpacking and installation time.

Collective_packaging.jpg

Space-saving collective packaging: 1) monitors, 2) stands

Compliance with standards and guidelines

The monitor is certified to important and comprehensive sustainability standards such as TCO Certified Generation 9 and ENERGY STAR®. It also has an EPEAT Gold registration for compliance with strict sustainability standards at the highest level, which is even complemented by a Climate + award on science-based climate protection standards.

The EV2495 represents a safe investment if aspects such as ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) or SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) of the United Nations are to be observed and required guidelines are to be complied with.

FAQs

Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.

Compatibility Mode ON = Power supply active in idle mode
Compatiblitly Mode OFF = Power supply only when switched on

To start the notebook with the monitor switched on, please activate the function "Power On with AC attach" in its BIOS/UEFI.
Depending on the computer, the function name may be slightly different.

To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:

IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.

Casing
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)

LCD display
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.

The integrated KVM switch allows you to connect up to three computers simultaneously to the monitor. You can use it to switch between devices that are currently plugged into the USB ports on your monitor (for example, a keyboard or mouse).

To do so, please proceed as follows:

  • Connect a computer via the USB-C port (labelled as video input) on the back of the monitor.
  • Connect the second (and third, if applicable) computer to an HDMI input or DisplayPort and to the USB-B port on the back of the monitor.
  • Peripherals such as a mouse or keyboard can be connected via the USB downstream ports located on the side of the monitor.

When the KVM functionality is enabled, the monitor automatically switches the controls to the active video input. Peripherals are connected to the USB-C device via a USB-C cable. Peripherals are connected to the HDMI/DisplayPort devices via the USB-B port.

Monitors and computers use a handshake to separately negotiate the power supply. The power supply is therefore protected against overloads and can be connected by the user without having to do anything but plug in the cable. We recommend using the USB-C cable supplied with the monitor since it supports 5A charging currents.

EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.

Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.

A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.

Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is usually suitable for use. For authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend using secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses.

Note: The use of MAC addresses can be incomplete because NICs such as USB LAN adapters, docks or monitors have their own MAC addresses and computers without a LAN port do not have a MAC address of the NIC. In addition, incompatibilities can - not infrequently - occur between hardware from different manufacturers. The use of GUID/UUID is manufacturer-independent.

GUID/UUID authentication for PXE-initiated deployments can be set quite easily in System Center Configuration Manager.

The following chat describes how it works:
Reusing the same NIC for multiple PXE initiated deployments in System Center Configuration Manager OSD - Microsoft Community Hub

Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is suitable for this. Each network adapter has its own MAC address, so computer authentication procedures are needed to replace the monitor's MAC address with the computer's address.

However, the procedures for the so-called MAC address pass-through are proprietary and lie within the sphere of influence of the PC manufacturers. Hardware from different manufacturers may be incompatible with each other. In this respect, the actual function must be checked or confirmed by the computer manufacturer.

If there is a lack of EIZO compatible support by the computer or its BIOS, the MAC address of the computer can be cloned into the EIZO monitor. For this purpose, we offer the free software "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" for Windows. This solution is manufacturer-independent.

As a rule, with the known methods, the MAC address transmitted to monitors is volatile after shutting down or removing the computer. This also applies to the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility".

Note: EIZO monitors with LAN interface support PXE. For PXE and authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend the use of secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses and their clones (see also FAQ on PXE).

Please check out the following points:

  • The graphics card/GPU must support DisplayPort 1.2 Multi-Stream Transport (MST) or higher version
  • Daisy Chain must be turned on in the monitor Settings Menu
  • macOS does not support Daisy Chaining.
  • The max. number of monitors including the laptop screen is limited. The output resolution may differ depending on the graphics card/GPU. Please turn of your laptop screen in your OS settings menu eventually if you want to use three or four 24” monitors or two 27” monitors
  • Use good signal cables (e.g.):
    • USB Type-C cable: CC200SS-5A (supplied with EV2795), CC100 (sold separately)
    • USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cable: CP200 (sold separately)

  • Apply latest graphic card drivers provided by OS vendor
  • Utilize monitor’s admin menu to switch compatibility mode ON, in case of any trouble returning from standby.

Note: LAN cable - in case you want to use - must connect to the first monitor in chain.

Warranty

Warranty terms - EV2485 | EV2781 | EV3895 | EV2495 | EV2795 | EV2480 | EV2490

EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.

  • Innovative service concept from EIZO, which sets standards and meets the trend towards longer depreciation periods. Safety that convinces and you can count on.
  • First-class material and careful processing provide for the extraordinary longevity and make so long guarantee durations possible.
  • Follow-up costs that would be incurred without warranty service, e.g. for maintenance and repairs, are avoided and lead to optimized cost transparency (Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
