Monitor Configurator

Software for network-wide settings.

Monitor Test

Test the properties and parametres of your monitor quickly and easily with software developed in-house at EIZO.

Screen InStyle / Server

With Screen InStyle, power, colour, brightness and other settings can be easily managed. Screen InStyle Server allows system administrators to manage and control monitors and PCs connected to the network.

FAQs

Yes, this is possible with an open and closed notebook through the monitor's power delivery function. To do this, deactivate the USB-C power supply of the notebook in idle mode in the Admininstrator menu of the monitor.

Compatibility Mode ON = Power supply active in idle mode
Compatiblitly Mode OFF = Power supply only when switched on

To start the notebook with the monitor switched on, please activate the function "Power On with AC attach" in its BIOS/UEFI.
Depending on the computer, the function name may be slightly different.

To keep your monitor looking like new at all times and to prolong the service life of your device, we recommend cleaning it regularly. Clean the casing and LCD surface as described below:

IMPORTANT: Never use thinner, benzene, alcohol (ethanol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol), scouring agents or other strong solvents as these may damage the casing and the LCD display.

Casing
Remove marks by wiping the casing with a soft cloth, which you have previously moistened with a mild cleaning agent. Never spray wax or cleaning agents directly on to the casing. (The manual contains exact details.)

LCD display
Where necessary, the monitor surface may be cleaned using a soft cloth (for example a cotton cloth or glasses cloth). Stubborn marks can generally be removed by wetting the cloth with a bit of water to increase the cleaning strength.

The integrated KVM switch allows you to connect up to three computers simultaneously to the monitor. You can use it to switch between devices that are currently plugged into the USB ports on your monitor (for example, a keyboard or mouse).

To do so, please proceed as follows:

  • Connect a computer via the USB-C port (labelled as video input) on the back of the monitor.
  • Connect the second (and third, if applicable) computer to an HDMI input or DisplayPort and to the USB-B port on the back of the monitor.
  • Peripherals such as a mouse or keyboard can be connected via the USB downstream ports located on the side of the monitor.

When the KVM functionality is enabled, the monitor automatically switches the controls to the active video input. Peripherals are connected to the USB-C device via a USB-C cable. Peripherals are connected to the HDMI/DisplayPort devices via the USB-B port.

Monitors and computers use a handshake to separately negotiate the power supply. The power supply is therefore protected against overloads and can be connected by the user without having to do anything but plug in the cable. We recommend using the USB-C cable supplied with the monitor since it supports 5A charging currents.

EIZO monitors support DisplayPort Alternate Mode with their USB-C interface. This means they can correctly display image signals from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports via USB-C connection. The USB-C signal cable supplied by EIZO with the monitor has the optimal suitability.

Alternatively, monitors with a DisplayPort socket can be connected using a suitable cable. The CP200 signal cable (USB-C (TB3/TB4) to DisplayPort) provided by EIZO is the most suitable.

A connection from Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ports to the HDMI interface of the monitor can work with suitable active adapters/cables. However, we recommend using the USB-C or DisplayPort interface of the monitor.

Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is usually suitable for use. For authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend using secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses.

Note: The use of MAC addresses can be incomplete because NICs such as USB LAN adapters, docks or monitors have their own MAC addresses and computers without a LAN port do not have a MAC address of the NIC. In addition, incompatibilities can - not infrequently - occur between hardware from different manufacturers. The use of GUID/UUID is manufacturer-independent.

GUID/UUID authentication for PXE-initiated deployments can be set quite easily in System Center Configuration Manager.

The following chat describes how it works:
Reusing the same NIC for multiple PXE initiated deployments in System Center Configuration Manager OSD - Microsoft Community Hub

Yes, the USB LAN interface in EIZO monitors is suitable for this. Each network adapter has its own MAC address, so computer authentication procedures are needed to replace the monitor's MAC address with the computer's address.

However, the procedures for the so-called MAC address pass-through are proprietary and lie within the sphere of influence of the PC manufacturers. Hardware from different manufacturers may be incompatible with each other. In this respect, the actual function must be checked or confirmed by the computer manufacturer.

If there is a lack of EIZO compatible support by the computer or its BIOS, the MAC address of the computer can be cloned into the EIZO monitor. For this purpose, we offer the free software "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility" for Windows. This solution is manufacturer-independent.

As a rule, with the known methods, the MAC address transmitted to monitors is volatile after shutting down or removing the computer. This also applies to the "EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility".

Note: EIZO monitors with LAN interface support PXE. For PXE and authentication during software deployment and system maintenance of client machines, we recommend the use of secure and unique GUID/UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) instead of MAC addresses and their clones (see also FAQ on PXE).

The USB-C connection is not established, is unstable or fails sporadically.
How can I prevent/fix this?

On a case-by-case basis, one or more of the following measures may help.

Warranty

Warranty terms

EIZO provides up to a five-year warranty, although some devices have a different warranty period. You can find out the exact warranty periods for each product either in the warranty terms and conditions above, in the datasheet, or on the EIZO international website. The long warranty periods are made possible by a highly developed manufacturing process based on a simple principle of success: sophisticated and innovative monitor technology, manufactured from high-end materials. For you, the 5-year warranty means a high level of investment security and savings on follow-up costs (total cost of ownership), which would be incurred without warranty service, for example, for maintenance and repairs.

  • Innovative service concept from EIZO, which sets standards and meets the trend towards longer depreciation periods. Safety that convinces and you can count on.
  • First-class material and careful processing provide for the extraordinary longevity and make so long guarantee durations possible.
  • Follow-up costs that would be incurred without warranty service, e.g. for maintenance and repairs, are avoided and lead to optimized cost transparency (Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
