EIZO FlexScan FLT

EIZO today unveiled the FlexScan FLT. It is currently the world's most energy-efficient desktop monitor and the perfect expression of EIZO's vision for the future of monitor design, the modern workplace and a sustainable future. The FLT is a lightweight 23.8-inch monitor with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) designed specifically for business users.

For more than 30 years, EIZO has been a leader in the development of energy-efficient and ergonomic monitors with environmentally conscious manufacturing with the FlexScan series of office monitors. In 2023, the company accelerated its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire value chain by 2040. These efforts are in line with its own "Transition to Net Zero" sustainability strategy, which is taking concrete shape through the FLT (Future-Leading Technology).

The monitor underlines EIZO's claim to its products and its own management. It gives an outlook on what EIZO is aiming for with the next generations of its monitors. The mix of sustainability, modern functionality and sleek design reflects EIZO's commitment to continuous innovation that meets today's challenges while striving for a better future.

Sustainable business practices are of crucial importance to more and more companies worldwide - and require well-founded decisions when selecting new technologies and new products. With a typical power consumption of just 6 watts, the FLT is the most energy-efficient monitor in the world. It is the first monitor to meet the stringent requirements of efficiency class A, the highest level of EU energy consumption labeling*.

In addition, the FLT received the TCO certification according to the current TCO Certified Generation 10 at the same time as the release. In the EPEAT registration, the FLT also achieves the highest level EPEAT Gold and the EPEAT Climate+ designation. This underlines EIZO's commitment to sustainability and supply chain management.

The housing of the FLT was developed with the environment in mind and consists of 95 % recycled plastic. In this way, EIZO reduces plastic waste, conserves resources and promotes the reuse of materials. The packaging and transport padding of the monitor are also made from recycled materials to minimize the environmental impact. By reducing the packaging size by approximately 42 % compared to a previous 23.8-inch model, the loading efficiency is increased by 1.5 times. The packaging reduction also enables a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions during transportation of up to 42 %. In addition, enterprise customers can opt for group packaging, where multiple FLT monitors are packed in a single box to reduce overall waste and significantly reduce unpacking and installation time.

From procurement and production to shipping and use, greenhouse gas emissions over the entire product life cycle of the FLT have been reduced by around 32% compared to a previous 23.8-inch monitor.

As modern ways of working become more diverse, workstations need to evolve to enable employees to work efficiently, creatively and comfortably. The FLT allows a laptop to be connected with a single cable through USB-C ports, transmitting both video and USB signals and providing up to 60 watts of power. The FLT is also the first monitor from EIZO that can draw its power from external devices via USB-C and then even works without its own power supply.

For added comfort during use, the Auto EcoView function of the FLT automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to changes in ambient lighting. The EcoView Optimizer function automatically adjusts the brightness to suit the content displayed. Together, these technologies improve visual comfort and also reduce power consumption. Both of the FLT's Eco modes are easy to use as they work automatically and are activated ex works.

The FLT's on-screen menu also allows users to monitor the power consumption of connected devices, including the PC, to further promote environmental awareness. The power consumption can optionally be displayed permanently at the edge of the screen.

With a weight of only 2.4 kg and a slim bezel thickness of just 24.4 mm, the monitor blends unobtrusively into any office environment. Its design with a striking bezel around the housing ensures a frameless appearance with modern, future-oriented aesthetics.

The monitor is attached to a special arm that makes the FLT appear to float, allowing particularly flexible positioning of the screen. An integrated clamp enables effortless attachment and removal using a rotating mechanism.
