EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) announced that its manufacturing facilities earned a Platinum status from the Responsible Business Alliances’ (RBA) Validated Assessment Programme (VAP) audit.
The Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) is the world's largest industry coalition of more than 200 companies dedicated to corporate social responsibility in global supply chains. The RBA has established a code of conduct that requires companies and their supply chains to ensure safe working conditions, respectful and dignified treatment of workers, corporate responsibility for the environmental impact of their operations, and ethical conduct of business. EIZO joined the RBA in January 2020 with the aim of promoting sustainability in its global supply chain, and further strengthening its own sustainability initiatives while referring to the RBA Code of Conduct.
Validated Assessment Programme (VAP) audits are conducted by an RBA-accredited auditing organization to verify and assess compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct through document inspections, facility visits, and employee interviews. EIZO's main factories, EIZO Corporation Head Office Factory and EIZO MS Corporation Nanao Factory, are responsible for more than 80% of EIZO's domestic and overseas factory production. In December 2022, both factories underwent a VAP audit and received a perfect score of 200 points, achieving Platinum Status which is the highest certification in the programme.
As further testimony to not only EIZO’s compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct, but also EIZO’s recognition of the respect for human rights as one of the most important social responsibilities for an organization, EIZO established the EIZO Group Human Rights Policy in 2022. Furthermore, EIZO requires suppliers to comply with its Supplier Code of Conduct and cooperate with voluntary audits. The Platinum certification earned from the RBA’s VAP audit is the result of these and other initiatives by EIZO to maintain and improve sustainability throughout the global supply chain.
The EIZO Group Principles of Conduct were established to realize the corporate philosophy of “enriching people’s work and lives through imaging solutions.” In addition to solving social issues through products, these guidelines also refer to social, environmental, and ethical responsibilities, such as environmental friendliness, respect for human rights, and the creation of a working environment in which employees can work with enthusiasm.
