EIZO RadiForce MX217

The Japanese manufacturer EIZO announces the market launch of the RadiForce MX217. The 21.3-inch colour monitor with 2 megapixels (1200 x 1600 pixels) is offered in two model variants. Both are used for reviewing diagnostic images in hospitals and medical practices. The calibrated brightness of 340 cd/m² of MX217-HB is particularly suitable for dental treatment rooms. The MX217-SB variant with 240 cd/m² brightness is suitable for the dental radiology diagnostic room.

Thanks to DICOM®-GSDF compliance of the MX217, the displayed luminances are consistent in monochrome medical images such as X-rays, CT or MRI. The monitor also provides reliable colour reproduction for reviewing images from endoscopy, nuclear medicine and ultrasound. This provides flexibility of use for images from different imaging modalities.

The MX217 has a contrast ratio of 1800:1 to enable precise reproduction of deep blacks in monochrome images. It also features EIZO's unique Hybrid Gamma PXL function, which automatically distinguishes between monochrome and colour images pixel by pixel, enabling hybrid display. Monochrome pixels are displayed with the optimal DICOM® GSDF grey scale, while colour pixels are displayed with the ideal gamma 2.2 characteristic. In this way, both colour and monochrome images can be displayed correctly side by side on the same monitor at the same time.

With RadiCS LE quality control software (included) and the built-in luminance sensor built into the front bezel of the monitor, the monitor can recalibrate fully automatically without the need for an external sensor.

For multi-screen operation, the MX217 can very easily be daisy-chained with another monitor. To do this, its DisplayPort connectors are used to connect an additional monitor in a daisy-chain sequence.

Sustainable business and environmental protection are firmly anchored in EIZO's corporate philosophy. The RadiForce MX217 is made of approximately 18% recycled plastic. This reduces the amount of plastic waste that ends up in the environment and conserves resources. In addition, EIZO eliminates the use of plastic and Styrofoam in its packaging to reduce environmental impact. The MX217 is securely packaged with recycled pulp and cardboard and the cables are wrapped in paper instead of plastic bags.

Delivery of the RadiForce MX217 will start in June 2023. The date of availability may vary depending on the country or region.
