The Hungarian packaging manufacturer MIKROPAKK was looking for a monitor solution with flexible image arrangement and high image quality to modernise and further develop its video security system. The decision was quickly made in favour of EIZO IP decoder monitors.
DURAVISION CASE STUDY
An easy choice for a unique solution
MIKROPAKK modernised its video surveillance with EIZO IP decoder monitors.
Modernisation of video surveillance systems at production facilities
In early 2019 MIKROPAKK decided to renew and develop its outdated video security system in both manufacturing sites. Tha main purpose of the new surveillance solution was property and theft protection as well as a traceability of potential accidents during manufacturing process. The new system would include the installation of 160 <HIKVISION> IP cameras that are monitoring both the manufacturing halls and the office rooms of the buildings. In the planning phase of the project MIKROPAKK developed a complex camera-monitor matrix defining how the incoming signals should be organised and displayed. A solution was needed in which flexible screen arrangement was applicable, something only EIZO IP decoding monitors support.
Choice of EIZO surveillance monitors
When planning the new system, MIKROPAKK was looking for a video surveillance solution with minimal installation time and effort. Particularly with regard to the monitors, good image quality and wide viewing angles were essential. For some applications monitors with a larger screen size (e.g. 46”) were needed, so watching from a distance and still seeing well was possible for the security staff. Since the primary function of EIZO IP decoding monitors are live-viewing and MIKROPAKK planned to record the video stream on a separate NVR system, EIZO FDF2304W-IP and FDF4627W-IP models were the perfect and preferred solution from the very beginning. After thorough compatibility testing with the cameras the above mentioned 23-inch FDF2304W-IP and 46-inch FDF4627W-IP decoding monitors were ordered for both facilities.
Since the very beginning of our modernisation project we have been looking at EIZO IP decoding monitors as the ideal solution for our requirements. We already knew that the image quality of EIZO would satisfy our needs and the PC-less connection saves time and labor costs for us

How did you hear from EIZO and our products?
A lot of preparatory measures and activities have been taken in advance of the tender, in which we finally decided and defined what technical specifications needed to be fulfilled for our facilities. Later on, we got introduced to the EIZO DuraVision IP decoding solutions.
Have EIZO monitors benefitted your way of working? Did they make it easier?
Yes, indeed they did. Currently the EIZO DuraVision monitors are in operation in our property and theft protection, as well as the incident detection system. One of the main requirements for the new system was a space-saving solution, and as the EIZO monitor is able to show up to 16 camera streams simultaneously, it only makes it easier for the property protection department to visualize and analyse all streams at the same time on only one monitor.
What was the difference to other manufacturers – why did you choose EIZO?
That is easy. The combination of decoding and simultaneous display of so many streams on one monitor seems to be a unique solution from EIZO. So - frankly speaking - we did not find any other manufacturer with this kind of solution.
Do you have any considerations for additional future installations of EIZO products?
Absolutely imaginable. In case of any future requirements where EIZO solutions are the best answer both in a technical and in an economical way. (laughs)
